the correct title of this lithograph is, as stated in Meloni & Tavola Antiope but the incorrect title is clearly seen under the image
a fine impression, probably one of the eight proofs printed on China paper apart from the 200 in the book edition on Pescia; there were also 30 final state proofs on China issued as extra prints in the first 30 books
from the book Theseus by André Gide, the lithographs printed by Piero Fornasetti, Milan; the book was designed by Hans Mordersteig
