Luxemburg, 1909 - 1993

One of the few truly international artists who have come from Luxemburg, Kerg, at the age of 20 went to the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts and to study at the Sorbonne in Paris. He became a pupil of Paul Klee in 1932 at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorft after a brief stay in Munich. After the war he became professor at the Arts & Crafts School in Kassel. There he began making sculpture in various materials, including glass and concrete. In 1989 a museum dedicated to Kerg's work was opened in Schriesheim bei Heidelberg
