Priest was born in England and was awarded a John Minton scholarship at the Royal College of Art where she studied from 1967 - 1970. She had a successful career, showing at many British galleries and taught at Harrow Scool and St Martins School of Art. She went to live in Canada in 1976. She has works in public collections including the Tate Gallery, British Council and North American collections
